Solomon and the whole assembly… sought Him there.

Solomon… spoke to all Israel-to the commanders of thousands and hundreds, judges, leaders, heads of households-and Solomon and the whole assembly went to Gibeon, where God’s tent of meeting was, where the bronze altar was, and Solomon and the assembly sought Him there. (2 Chronicles 1:2-5).

O God, in a day when people seek anything and everything but You, please incline our hearts… that we may be a people who seek You.

O Lord, our days are so busy and full… the necessary and the good often preclude the best… give us the courage and fortitude to seek You first.

O Jesus, empower us to influence those around us-as Solomon did-that we may lead others to seek You.

O Father, give us wholehearted, lasting devotion to seek You all our days. In the words of the songwriter, “Let us never, never outlive our love for You.”
