Our Purpose
We seek to cultivate hearts that mirror God’s heart for the world using a three-pronged approach:
- Keeping our church body up-to-date about local and global missions.
- Keeping our church body connected with our field workers around the world by highlighting a unit each month for prayer. We aim to provide holistic support to our field workers, i.e. not only financially, but physically, emotionally and spiritually as well.
- Preparing future field workers to enter cross-cultural situations.
The GO Team welcomes participation from anyone who has a passion for God’s world, wants to minister to God’s servants around the world and wants to obey the Great Commission.
Our Role
- Raising awareness in the local body
Through our monthly Missions Moment, we strive to help our congregation become aware of the needs around them, make lifestyle adjustments in response to God’s purpose for us as a church, and acquire skills to be more effective in their ability to minister to others.
- Supporting our field workers:
- Spiritually (shepherding)… Ephesians 6:18-20
- faithful prayer
- send sermons, books on tape and other resources for spiritual encouragement
- Physically (physical provision)… Ephesians 4:14-18; 2 Timothy 4:13; Titus 4:14
- be aware of special needs (financial, educational, etc.)
- send work team to help when needed
- Emotionally (”come alongside”)… Acts 28:15; 2 Timothy 1:16-18, 4:9-11; Philippians 4:14
- phone calls, emails, letters, care packages
- provide refreshment and renewal when needed
- Spiritually (shepherding)… Ephesians 6:18-20
- Equipping for outreach
