Dear Woodland Hills Family,
Isn’t this an accurate reflection on our receptivity to criticism?

When I saw this, I immediately thought of our study this past Sunday on “being subject to one another.” What an uncomfortable message that was!  I didn’t enjoy studying for it or giving it. I guess it hit a little too close to home.

As a matter of fact, I’ve found a number of these “one anothers” a bit unsettling. They’re rather meddlesome, in all honesty!

Under the Spirit’s discomfort on “being subject to one another,” I was tempted to rationalize it as “not that big of a deal.”  After all, look at all the other areas of my life I need to be working on!  Aren’t there bigger fish to fry?

But the Lord pointed me to a statistic that reminded me how important the “little” things are: each year, more homes are destroyed by termites than by fire.

With the Lord’s help, let’s give the necessary attention to the “little” things.

Blessings,
