God’s Word

God’s Word

Things are changing very rapidly these days, aren’t they? We are realizing just how fragile our health, our economy, and our way of life really are. In uncertain times, what a treasure it is to have the Lord’s assurance, “I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you” (Joshua 1:5).

Next week’s Scripture Memory Calendar verse also speaks to our situation:

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips;
meditate on it day and night,
so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.
Then you will be prosperous and successful.
(Joshua 1:8)

Unfortunately, however, we’re more likely to keep the latest number of infections or the latest economic projection “always on our lips” and coursing through our minds. But if His Word is always on our lips and if His Word is directing our steps, He promises us we’ll be prosperous and successful in any situation, no matter how uncertain or grave.

May I give one practical suggestion? Track the number of daily minutes you’re giving to the news, and also track the number of daily minutes you’re giving to His Word. This will help you see if there’s an imbalance so you can make any needed adjustments.

On a personal level, I invite you to call, text, or email me with specific ways I can pray for you or help you. I am more than ready to pick up a prescription or run an errand for you. Please take me seriously. You would really make my day if you would let me serve you.
