As I’m sure you know, Beta Testing is the process by which an almost-ready-to-go product is field-tested out in the real world before its official release.

Humans are privileged to be able to revisit their designs and perfect them. It is quite a testament to human intelligence that we are able to test products and services, discover flaws or areas that need improvement, make revisions, and re-release the now-improved version.

God, on the other hand, never beta tests. His work never has flaws or even small areas that could stand improvement.

I was at a wedding once. The minister told a joke he thought was cute: “After God created the man He said to Himself, ‘I can do better than this!’ And so He created the woman.”

I didn’t even chuckle. In fact, I was incensed! And I have filed that minister’s remarks under Blasphemy.

And God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good (Gen 1:31). Not even the tiniest molecule needed to be revised!

Fast forward to our day. In spite of the fact that we humans marred His creation, God’s ways are never in need of more testing. His guidance, His plan, His principles, His will… are always spot-on. They never need a revamp, overhaul, or makeover. When we “trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding” we will never realize we could have made a better choice. When we abide by His standards of integrity, honesty, or morality, we will never wish we had a mulligan.

So when you find yourself in a quagmire—whether from your own doing or someone else’s—take courage! God never says, “Oops!” There’s never something He missed. Therefore He is not making on-the-fly revisions in your circumstances hoping for a better result. He is completely, lovingly, wisely in control of every facet and He’s bringing about His perfect outcome for you. Just keep your heart and mind fixed on Him. He’s not beta testing.
